When people see the name of my business, I am often asked if my surname is Baumann. Well its not, its actually Tabb. The word “baumann” loosely translates to builder in Switzerland where my wife is from. I was impressed by the quality and longevity of the Swiss homes as well as the precision and technology they were built with. So we picked this name because it encompasses our philosophy of building quality homes for generations to come.
We engaged Baumann Ltd to build my holiday home in Te Anau. Being 8 hours away it was important that the project was well managed to ensure it was built in a timely manner. Phil went the extra yard to make what seemed a difficult project easy. Well he made it seem easy! Good project management, the building method used and hard work saw this house completed in 4 months. Ok he did work hard for 12 weeks. He left when the project was finished.
In 2014 Phil Tabb and Erika Feuz of Baumann Ltd, completed a new build for us. This was a trans-Tasman project being constructed in Christchurch, New Zealand while we lived in Brisbane, Australia. Phil and Erika were the perfect team for the job. Communication was excellent with scheduled weekly telephone updates, regular photographs, emails and any unscheduled design questions being attended to promptly. Phil’s attention to detail and conscientious work ethic alongside Erika’s accurate book keeping and open contact, as well as dab hand at painting, proved an effective and trust worthy combination. Both Phil and Erika have flair and an eye for design. They were able to interpret our ideas into functional practice without losing visual appeal. On occasion they worked long hours to complete stages in order to meet our agreed completion dates. The end result is a cool and unique home that we are extremely proud of. We have no hesitation in recommending Phil and Erika of Baumann Ltd.
